Earlier this year we got a look at the Juke receiving the Nismo treatment with a concept at the Paris Motorshow and now Nissan have released more details as the car will be going on UK sale in January 2013.
The exterior of the Juke has been modified with a Nismo bodykit which gives the Juke lower front and rear bumpers and side skirts. The arches have also been widened and some bright red wing mirrors have been added. I’m not too sure about the latter, but perhaps it’s a delete option.
Lowering the stance of the car and giving it wider arches does have an odd effect on the look of the Juke as from looking at the car in the images it makes the 18in wheels look tiny, hidden within the arches. I reckon it could do with some spacers and lowering a tad.
The suspension has been changed though with stiffer springs and ‘changed settings to enhance traction’ which I assume means the geometry has been altered to enhance the stability of the Juke.
Under the bonnet the Juke Nismo features a 1.6-litre petrol turbo which produces 200PS and in FWD manual spec it gets the Juke from 0-62 in 7.8 seconds and is capable of 134mph. A four-wheel drive variant is also available which will be slower, unless it snows.
Inside is where I think the Nismo model really sets itself apart from the standard Juke with suede Nismo sport seats, door cards and an Alcantara and leather steering wheel. That interior looks pretty awesome without being tacky. Well done Nismo.
Deliveries commence in March 2013 with prices starting at £19,995.
